All New 2014 Toyota Hilux Minor Change Vigo Champ and 2015 Major Change Facelift 2015 Next Model Release, Review and Price

2015 Major Change Toyota Hilux Vigo is just around the corner. It is bigger, wider, bolder, faster and cooler than all its predecessors and it will give all its competitors a run for its money.

2014 Toyota Hilux Vigo Minor Change was released in 2014. It was a minor change facelift model with three main changes:

• Front Dashboard is in an elegant black colour now
• Toyota Fortuner like controls on both sides of the steering
• Digital Air Conditioner as in Fortuner

There were a host of minor changes that refreshed the Toyota Hilux Vigo brand until we waited for the major change model.

Where is the Major Change Model that was expected in 2014?

People were disappointed when the Next Generation Toyota Hilux was released and it was not the Major Change Model  as were being hinted by multiple automotive circles. It is now expected that if pickup market picks up Toyota will release the Major Change Toyota Hilux in 2015. 2015 Next Model is expected to be a major change new model which will completely overhaul Toyota Hilux’s interiors and exteriors and will give it a fresh new look. 2013 Features retained in the new model

Here were salient features of 2013 Toyota Hilux Vigo:

• 2013 Toyota Vigo was Euro-4
• 3.0 litre turbo-diesel motor’s power was upped from 163hp to 171hp, while
  torque rose from 343Nm to 360Nm
• It had more efficient fuel injection system so you saved more on fuel
• Auto transmission was now 5 speed instead of the four speed available in 2012 model
• Prerunner 4×2 was now available in Auto

A host of new features in 2013 model exterior are retained in 2014 Minor Change Model. Basically from the outside the all-new latest model 2014 Hilux looks the same as 2013 Toyota Hilux. Here are some exterior features that were added in the new minor change facelift model. Here are some changes in the exterior that have been brought forth:

2015 Toyota Hilux Vigo Major Change Facelift Model

Toyota Australia, Toyota Japan and Toyota Thailand are working together to create this full change model and it is rumored that it is now ready. New shape New 2015 Toyota Hilux complete makeover is going to be as big a game changer as introduction of 2005 Toyota Hilux Vigo in late 2004. This time around Toyota is making a big push to involve as many of its R&D teams as it can. Toyota Australia Technical Centre, in Notting Hill near Melbourne will be in charge of chassis tuning for next generation HiLux pickup trucks destined for the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Some of the items they will be overseeing are ride and handling tuning, along with the integration of ESC and other new-age chassis aids across all models for the first time in HiLux. There are also rumours of an AWD model but we won’t hold our breath for it.

Expected Changes in Next Gen 2015 Hilux Toyota

Toyota is hoping that you will fall in love all over again with all the changes it is planning for the aging Hilux. Some changes expected in New Model New Shape 2015 Major Change Toyota Hilux are as follows:

• New Grill and front and rear lighting
• Better ride and handling
• Much better Suspension to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). Much better shock absorbers
• Increase braked towing capacity to at least 3000kg from the current 2500kg
• Add more active and passive safety features
• It will retain 2500 cc D-4D Diesel 2KD Engine, 3000 cc D-4D Diesel 1KD engine, 2000 cc Gasoline (Petrol) VVT-i DOHC I4, 2700 cc Gasoline (Petrol) VVT-i DOHC I4 and 4000 cc Gasoline (Petrol) VVT-i DOHC V-6 but horsepower and torque will be increased on all models
• European steering box instead of the current Japanese steering box
• Electronic Stability Control will be added to all Hilux models

Toyota Hilux 2015 part of IMV II

Toyota introduced the IMV Platform (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) last decade and vehicles underpinned by it (Fortuner, Hilux and Innova) are sold in 109 global markets. The platform supports products produced in 11 sites. In April 2012, sales of the global IMV Platform products touched 5 million units making it Toyota’s next cash cow. 2015 Major Change Toyota Hilux and 2015 Major Change Toyota Fortuner will be launched under IMV II.

Toyota Hilux 2015 and Toyota Fortuner 2015 will prove to be a substantial change that will revive Hilux and Fortuner franchise. They will have a completely new shape and a range of new technologies to compete with all its competitors. Ford, Mazda, Isuzu and GM Chevrolet’s all released their Major Change facelift pickup truck and SUV models in Thiland as their 2013 models and they have made great strides and leapt-frog past Toyota in many aspects. All new 2014 Toyota Hilux will be available from Jim Autos Thailand, Jim Autos United Kingdom, Jim Autos Australia, Jim Autos New Zealand in Right Hand Drive and from Jim Autos Dubai in Left Hand Drive. RHD Toyota Hilux 2014 will be available in Single Cab Toyota Hilux, Extra Cab Toyota Hilux and Double Cab Toyota Hilux. 2014 Isuzu D-max is also in the planning and will compete hands on in features with 2014 Hilux.

All New 2014 Hilux, 2014 Audi Q7 SUV, 2014 VW Tiguan

2013 and 2014 are going to be busy years for new models. Audi is planning to release its Major Change 2015 Model Audi Q7 SUV in carbon trim, VW is releasing its Tiguan and there are many more models from all manufacturers.

Please note that end of 2013 will be an eventful season for Toyota as Toyota is releasing not only Major Change Hilux and Major Change Fortuner but Toyota is also expected to release 2014 Toyota Forerunner, 2014 Toyota Corolla, 2014 Toyota Highlander, 2014 Toyota Matrix, Toyota Sienna and perhaps Toyota Yaris. It is not clear if 2014 Toyota Landcruiser, 2014 Toyota Prado, 2014 Toyota RAV-4 and 2014 Toyota Prius will undergo any major change in 2013 or not. In any event world’s top Toyota dealer exporter will keep you updated on changes in the vehicles and model lineup. Isuzu is also planning to release 2014 Isuzu Dmax and 2014 Isuzu MU-7 SUV in 2013.

Volkwagen is introducing a longer version of Volkwagen VW Tiguan XL in 2015 which will compete with 2014 Toyota Fortuner SUV. One interesting thing about Tiguan 2015 major change model will be that it would be based on MQB platform which will give it plug-in hybrid capability. It is likely to have much better towing capability than Fortuner thanks to its relationship with upscale sibling VW Touareg. Audi has been working on its next generation Audi Q7 SUV. The new major change 2015 Audi Q-7 SUV is being built with cabon fiber.

When is Toyota Hilux New design 2015 and Toyota Fortuner New Shape 2015?

Even though Release Date and Price of New Hilux 2015 is a closely guarded secret, the consensus is that New Shape Toyota Hilux Vigo Major Change 2015 model is likely to be released in September of 2014.
